Hi! Here's another update to let you know what progress has been made with DNA Magazine since I last posted. This morning, I sent the PDF proofs for the print issue off to the printers, cause for big excitement but also nerves. These print copies should be delivered to me by next Thursday (the bank holiday has delayed things slightly) at which point I'll be sending out copies to those of you who selected that reward option. I'll be launching the magazine online on Friday on the main website, alongside making the copies of the print issue available to readers. DNA Magazine is coming!

Thanks to your sponsorship and help spreading the word on social media, I managed to raise over £300. This was double the minimum amount that I needed to get the first issue of the magazine printed ready for it to be launched both online and in shops around Bath. Since the fund-raising campaign launched, I've been gathering submissions from talented writers across the UK and have selected 20 pieces for publication in the magazine. These pieces were all inspired by lists as diverse as shopping lists, abandoned London Underground stations and the personal effects of a soldier who died in WW1. There will poetry, prose and short pieces of Twitterature – which use 144 characters to tease you with the merest hint of a story. I'm currently working on laying out the magazine in InDesign, ready to be printed in mid-May. As soon as the copies come in, I will be hand-writing notes and sending copies out to everyone who chose that reward option. The printing should take a week. Because so much money was raised, I've been able to add extra pages to the magazine and improve the paper specifications. This means that the print edition will now run to 48 pages rather than the 36 pages I'd initially planned for. More pages meant more space for content and story-telling – and that can only be a good thing. Next on my DNA to-do list is updating the website to include a Thank You page for those of you who selected this reward. This will be done by the end of this week. Then I'll be back to designing the magazine and proofreading it. Submissions for the next issue will then open next month as I start planning how I'm going to keep the magazine going in the future. Again, I would just like to thank you for sponsoring the project and I'll keep updating you with more information as the project moves through its completion process.Best Wishes
