We are aiming to raise £8000-£9000 so that we can put on our end of year catwalk show.

A short summary of your project

We are raising money to finance putting on our end of year catwalk show. We would love your support to help us create a spectacular show which will showcase our very first collections as aspiring designers, as well as giving our families and friends a chance to see what we've been working on for the last 3 years. 

Your story

From starting the course in September 2016, we have spent the last 2 years learning and growing our skills so that we can produce collections that embody who we are as designers. The pinnacle of our university career is the end of year show in the beautiful Assembly Rooms in Bath, a perfect location to complement our work. Each 3rd year student gets the opportunity to send their collections down the runway, an opportunity we otherwise would not have. Having working behind the scenes of the show for the last two years, we are extremely excited to have the chance for our work available for everyone to see. 

This show is not only important to the final year students but to the whole Fashion Department, as it publicises and promotes the Bath Spa Fashion Design Course, which can continue to create and nurture new talent. 1st and 2nd year students also get the opportunity to show some of their work on the catwalk. 

The money that you donate will enable us to create another fabulous show, and it will help connect us to other graduates and people working within the industry which will help start our future careers. It will also be a celebration for us and our families who have supported us through this journey.

Where will the money go?

To put on a professional catwalk show costs an enormous amount of money, and we have to raise a large portion of this amount ourselves (part is funded by Bath Spa University) in order for the show to go ahead. If we fail to reach the target, we will not be able to show at the event and lose the opportunity to show our families and friends all our hard work. The money you donate will go towards the payment of professional models, hair and make up teams and show production costs (such as lighting and sound systems). Below are the costs for last year's Bath Show and the estimation of this year's show costs -

Hire cost the ballroom in the Assembly Rooms - £836

Models x 18 - approx £9,500

Rail Fare for models x 18, catwalk photographer and show producer - approx £1,000

Production costs, staging, sound, lighting build and breakdown including engineers working on the day - £7,020

Show Production - £1,350

Catwalk photography - £300

Meals/Refreshments throughout the day for model, hair, makeup and production teams - approx £350

Make-up mirror hire and courier deliver & return - £380

Tickets/posters - £232.80

The total costs could potentially be £20,968.80 - in order for the show to go ahead and the University to agree to help with the rest of the funding, we must raise £8,000 of that. 

Rewards

By donating a certain amount, you will receive an illustration from one of our final year student's work or a free 'fashion' tote bag; designed by us. Once we have reached our target and raised the money needed to put on the show, we will contact you to receive your address to post it out to you.

Tickets to the show will be available in May 2019, where you can see what your donations have helped to achieve!.
